Adding Google Plugin to site
Step 1: Install and Activate Site Kit Plugin
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Go to Plugins > Add New.
- Search for Google Site Kit.
- Click Install Now, then Activate.
Step 2: Set Up Google Site Kit
- After activation, go to Site Kit > Dashboard.
- Click Start Setup.
- Sign in with your Google account ([email protected]) (use the same one linked to GA4 & GSC).
- Click Allow to grant permissions.
- Click Verify Ownership (this automatically verifies your site with Google Search Console).
- Click Connect Search Console to complete the setup.
Step 3: Connect Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
- In Site Kit > Settings, go to Connected Services.
- Click Set Up Analytics.
- Choose an existing GA4 property or create a new one.
- Click Confirm & Connect.
- Site Kit will automatically insert the GA4 tracking code.
Step 4: Connect Google Search Console
- If you verified your site in Step 2, GSC is already connected.
- If not, go to Site Kit > Settings > Search Console, click Set Up and follow the steps.
Step 5: Connect Other Google Services (Optional)
- Google Tag Manager: Go to Site Kit > Settings > Tag Manager, and link your account.
- Google AdSense (for monetization): Enable it under Site Kit > Settings > AdSense.
Step 6: Verify Data Collection
- Go to Site Kit > Dashboard to see Analytics & Search Console data.
- In Google Analytics (analytics.google.com), check Realtime Reports.
- In Google Search Console (search.google.com/search-console/), monitor search traffic.
