Naming Schemes

To follow Best Practices, there should be no special characters within the file’s name or excel file itself.

  • Audio File Naming Scheme example: alikchi-ya-issvsht-ia-hinla-ho.mp3
    • For any spaces, please use a hyphen.
    • File is named incorrectly if it looks like this:
      • alikchi ya is svsht ia hinla ho.mp3
      • alikchi-ya-is-svsht-____.mp3
  • Excel file should not contain any special characters such as: ʋ, a̱, i̱, and o̱.

Time Allocation for Web

Please allow for 3 weeks for importing and adding Choctaw language special characters.

Audio Files

Finalize all audio files before sending them to the Web team. This ensures a smooth and efficient workflow. Files should be carefully reviewed for issues such as:

  • Background noise (e.g., stomach growling, coughing, chair squeaks)
  • Mispronunciations or unclear speech
  • Volume inconsistencies
  • Awkward pauses or long silences
  • Technical glitches (echo, distortion, clipping)

Only clean, finalized audio should be submitted to avoid delays in publishing.

Approval Process

  • New phrases are added to the dev site.
  • Language, Sarah Padilla, and her team review and provide feedback.
  • After approval and corrections, content is exported to the live site.
